Capture the height of summer in a bowl

16 oz frozen peaches

¾ cup homemade yogurt

1 tablespoon honey or agave

basil, chiffonaded

The only thing better than ice cream is homemade ice cream. There’s no use describing it. It’s perfect because it’s tailored to exactly what you want, but it takes forever. That’s why this frozen yogurt is special. With only a few ingredients, our recipe is fresh and clean with no added colors, flavors or preservatives. We start with homemade yogurt and frozen peaches, and we don’t add much more than a dash of sweetener. For this recipe, you can either use store-bought frozen peaches, or if they’re in season, you can freeze your own pre-cut fruit.

Step One. Turn regular yogurt into Greek yogurt

Over a wide, deep bowl, stretch and secure cheese cloth. Pour your homemade yogurt into this strainer, and allow it to rest for several hours in the refrigerator. The longer you wait, the thicker your yogurt will become.

When your Greek yogurt is ready, you may save the separated whey in a clean, sealed jar for additions to other recipes.

Step Two. Combine ingredients

In a food processor, blend frozen peaches, prepared Greek yogurt and sweetener until the mixture has a smooth, creamy texture.

Step Three. Chill?

If you would like, the frozen yogurt can be eaten immediately. If you would like a firmer texture, freeze for several hours before serving.

Step Four. Serve

When serving, top the frozen yogurt with freshly chiffonaded basil.

This recipe can be scaled for larger ice cream parties, and the frozen fruit can be swapped out, so you can customize this for the pickiest crowds. We love pre-making and freezing multiple pints for sudden parties and unexpected BBQ nights. They’re a fun, simple dessert that’s healthier than a lot of treats out there.
